Founded in 1986, the Beaverton Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit governed by a volunteer board of directors. Funds raised provide a margin of excellence for our libraries and are not a replacement for public funding for the library.
Each year, the Beaverton Library Foundation funds and sponsors:
The annual Summer Reading program, reaching more than 7,500 children and teens to help them retain their reading skills while school is out
Literary contests for teens, including a poetry contest in April and a fiction contest in October; more than 500 teens submit their creative work.
An annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior who volunteers at the library
Mission
The Beaverton Library Foundation’s mission is to inspire continued excellence in our libraries by cultivating charitable giving.
Vision
Our vision for the foundation is to fund the future for the Beaverton City Library by turning passion into action.
