About the Beaverton Library Foundation

Founded in 1986, the Beaverton Library Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit governed by a volunteer board of directors. Funds raised provide a margin of excellence for our libraries and are not a replacement for public funding for the library.

Each year, the Beaverton Library Foundation funds and sponsors: The annual Summer Reading program, reaching more than 7,500 children and teens to help them retain their reading skills while school is out Literary contests for teens, including a poetry contest in April and a fiction contest in October; more than 500 teens submit their creative work (read the writing of some of the contest winners on our blog) An annual scholarship to a graduating high school senior who volunteers at the library

Mission
